People’s Television seeking interns

We currently have four internship postitions available for students for the Fall 2008 semester.
Internships are available for students of either SUNY Purchase College or CUNY Hunter College.
Internships are for four-upper level credits. SUNY Students must have a minimum of 30 credits to apply. Intern will be able to work primarily from home/campus but must some work will be required at our office in upper Manhattan. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Outreach Intern
Intern to coordinate outreach for our current and upcoming documentary projects. Intern will be responsible to develop partnerships between People’s Television and local and national organizations desiring to incorporate media into their campaigns. The intern will assist People’s Television to market its products beyond traditional film distribution, and build fruitful collaborations with nonprofit, corporate, and grassroots organizations.
Video Intern
The qualified candidate will assist editing feature-length nonfiction programming. Responsibilities will include digitizing and logging footage, editing video and audio in our macintosh editing suite, and potentially shooting supplemental material in the NYC area on professional video equipment.
E-marketing Intern
We are looking for a web 2.0 savvy intern to manage and expand our online presence, including our own websites/blogs as well as our presence on popular social networking and video sites.
Graphic/Web development Intern
Student graphic/web designer to assist in layout/design and implemenation of visually focused web sites for nonfiction films /commercial work produced by People’s Television. Intern will gain experience and ultimately be responsible for preparing videos for flash and other web-capable video formats.
